STEWARDSHIP

Time, Talent and Treasure

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

- Matthew 6:21

“The point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work”

- 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

As the Scripture verse above acknowledges, “God loves a cheerful giver.”  A cheerful giver is a son or daughter after God’s own heart, since our Heavenly Father is the ultimate giver of gifts, the most supreme gift being that of His only Son.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Volunteering represents the “time and talent” part of Stewardship. Our gifts or talents are purposely created not just for ourselves but to help those around us. We have many varied opportunities for volunteering in several different capacities.

“Now it is required that those who have been given a talent must prove faithful.”

- 1 Corinthians 4:2

BEQUEST

An excellent way for you to support Advent's mission is to leave the church a bequest in your will, living trust or with a codicil. One significant benefit of making a gift by bequest is that it allows you to continue to use the property you will leave to charity during your life. Another benefit is that you are able to leave a lasting legacy.
